Bad Kids Go To Hell (2014)

One day on FaceBook, we got a call to go and post on a new Producer's group who was asking for actor's names to play an unnamed role in a horror movie with the ominous name of Bad Kids Go To Hell. We knew Ben's director from A Killer Within, Brad Keller, was helping produce the movie which was to be based on a graphic novel by two guys from Dallas, Tx. So we did what Scapers do and "puppy piled™" about Ben Browder and he was cast.

Ben came to the last Farscape Convention directly from the Dallas set and gave us a pantomime of his character who he described as a reincarnation of Boo Radley from To Kill A Mockingbird; moving furniture around and acting very dim. This was our first introduction to Max Rainwater.

Bad Kids Go To Hell is a classic slasher teenager movie where all the bad kids are locked in a library on detention and terrible, bloody things begin to happen. Ben's character seems to be always in he background moving ugly enormous American Indian statues and looking at student records.

The movie was strangely entertaining in spite of its gory nature and Max stays in your head. Who is this janitor who has an affinity for roaches that do his bidding? He likes to mop. And he seems to be pulling more strings than he lets on. The last scene is of one of the students whose parents were particularly odious , being carted away gagged and straight-jacketed. Max is seen standing by.

No wonder Ben , who had great words to say about the young cast and they about how helpful he was regarding how to enhance their rather cliched TV trope roles, was asked to reprise his character of Max Rainwater while directing the sequel.
