Bad Timing: Series 4, Episode 22
In April 2003, with the broadcast of Bad Timing, it was over. And the cliffhanger was a doozy. David Kemper and Rockne S. O'Bannon have since said that the placing of To Be Continued was probably a political mistake, but at the time, it seemed appropriate given the extreme sadness.
Ben went on CNN to answer questions about the cancellation. You can watch a pretty blurry video of that interview here:
That was unheard of for a small-time science fiction show. But such was the uproar from fans, that it caught the attention of the news media.
So started the brilliant two-part Save Farscape campaign. I say two-part because the first session was made up of brilliant advertising in Variety, a great letter-writing campaign with clever Crackers Do Matter mailings of crackers and a military charity project whereby VHS and DVDs of Farscape and other genre shows were mailed to military posts worldwide. The second campaign was through the Save Farscape website and committee from Frell Me Dead. I hope someone involved personally in these campaigns Angela Kinsey Dean) will help me remember how it actually worked. Bottom line, fans lead Brian Henson to the major funding and the completion of our saga with Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars.
